Having a humble, servant leader mindset and empowering others to take initiative is key to driving growth and your exit readiness. Toyota is a conscious business role model in empowering people. They developed LEAN and Kaizen, which are all about empowering all staff, bottom to top, to take initiative to build a better business. Look how well it's done for them. If you are an old-school leader, you may find this type of change very hard, but not changing can be fatal and make your business unsellable.
