I had a great discussion with Kent Boehm of Nine Business Group where we discussed Exit Planning and the challenges in helping owners get ready for a successful exit.
With an estimated 600,000 small, Baby-Boomer, privately owned business in Canada, there is a significant need for effective ownership transitions over the next 3-7 years as these owners seek to exit their businesses. Most business owners get one chance to exit successfully, yet many are not taking the necessary steps to prepare themselves, or their businesses, for that eventuality. After all, every business owner will leave their business at some point, and each of them has earned the right to do it on their terms. See my interview here:
